(Nashville, TN) – In a heartfelt ceremony on Friday, February 21, 2025, during the annual Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville, country music stars Eric Church and Luke Combs were honored as co-recipients of the CRS 2025 Artist Humanitarian Award. This accolade recognized their remarkable efforts in raising over $24 million for Hurricane Helene relief through their “Concert For Carolina” benefit.

The benefit concert, held on October 26, 2024, at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium, drew a record-breaking crowd of 82,000 fans. Despite the typical year-long planning required for such an event, Church and Combs, both North Carolina natives, organized the concert in just 28 days.

During their acceptance speech, Church expressed discomfort with receiving the award, stating, “I’m incredibly uncomfortable with an award like this.” He emphasized that their actions were driven by a sense of duty rather than a desire for recognition, adding, “A mentor of mine said a long time ago that you should never think about what you get from doing the right thing. You should just do the right thing.”

Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB) Awards Committee Chair Beverlee Brannigan praised the artists’ dedication, stating, “Eric Church and Luke Combs’ love for their home state has been nothing short of inspiring.” She commended their commitment to North Carolina’s recovery and their genuine compassion for its residents.

The CRB Artist Humanitarian Award, established in 1990, honors country artists whose philanthropic efforts have significantly impacted the causes they support. Church and Combs join a distinguished list of past recipients, including Kane Brown, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, and Carrie Underwood.

This recognition underscores the profound impact that artists can have when they leverage their platforms for the greater good, exemplifying the spirit of community and generosity that defines country music.
