Country music star Scotty McCreery, known for his five No. 1 hits on the Country Airplay chart, was forced to interrupt his performance at the Colorado State Fair over the weekend due to an altercation in the crowd. The incident took place at the Big R Arena in Pueblo, Colo., as McCreery was just one song into his set.

While performing his hit “It Matters to Her,” McCreery noticed a disturbance in the audience, where a concertgoer reportedly struck a woman. The singer immediately paused the show, pointing out the alleged assailant and addressing the situation directly from the stage.

“Hey, hey, hey, right here. That’s a lady you just hit, sir,” McCreery called out, directing security’s attention to the individual.

The music remained on hold as McCreery ensured the situation was being handled. He continued, “Absolutely not, who just hit the lady? Police, security, is she OK?” McCreery then spoke directly to the person responsible, saying, “Get the heck out of here… On God’s green Earth… at a Scotty McCreery show? What are you doing? Y’all let the cop know who hit the lady because that is absolutely unacceptable.”

Security promptly responded to the situation, and the show resumed once the matter was under control. McCreery’s actions have been widely praised by fans and concertgoers for his quick response in ensuring the safety and respect of his audience.

X (formerly Twitter) user Matt Centner (@CentnerMatt) later posted a video showing the alleged assailant being escorted out of the venue, praising McCreery for halting the show to address the situation.
